There was a time when Online Forums were cool, but slowly they started disappearing.
Today when we search on Google, there seems to be a fresh start about these online forums.
Although Facebook and Twitter or maybe even LinkedIn have replaced forums, and people are able to get all of their things in one single place, still forums have been somewhat relevant these days.
Why were forums popular?
Online forums used to be hip and happening place few years back, and one of the reason was a sense of community and belonging. Although most of the people used to create fake profiles and used to be anonymous, still they used to interact with each other.
If someone asked for some help, users would genuinely love to answer the query and help the person in need.
Yes, there were some scammers as well, but the positives of forums really out weighted the drawbacks caused by scammers.
Online Forums were dedicated spaces for getting first hand experience from people around the world with similar problems and issues like you and me.
Those were central repository for anything that you would imagine under the blue sky.
Having said that forums also provided a place to be something that no one could have been if they only used facebook or LinkedIn. It helped people find a purpose.
The purpose was “to share knowledge & connect”
Also, this connect was on a human level. Just like being Batman. You would have some knowledge and you would save someone in some issue. This is actually so heroic.
I will give one of my examples;
This was the time when AI was not there and I had come across a problem of developing an RPA solution, where I had to connect my front end with SQL server, which was tough for me, because I had no experience.
This took me to Google, and I searched for my problem, and I stumbled upon a forum where I asked my question, and within few minutes, I started getting loads of answers and different perspectives as well.
That time it worked as if some superhero has helped me because I couldn't have asked my client to help me :D
Things like these still happen and we do get opportunity to become saviors on online forums.
People help each other and also try to guide them when they are not sure what to do.
Sometimes suggestions can be weird, still this is what forums are all about. To be human and give a humanly answer.
Why did I shared this story?
I have always felt nostalgic when I saw a forum, and these days forums have become scared. Although growing, but very small.
Online forums are now limited to support for your products or services only, and most of them use some outdated software which seems to be breaking every now and then.
To cater to this specific problem, I have developed an online forum “World Net Forum”, which is a connecting ground for me and you.
I know you are already on medium and on other platforms. Now why would you join something new.
But that is the “thing” here. It’s new and growing.
And I want to connect with you.
You can start any conversation there. You can ask in community chat area, send private messages, or even post threads. You will love the feeling once you are familiar with the interface.
You will be able to clap for threads or what people say and will also be able to achieve badges.
Discuss about your upcoming project or new article that you want to write. This is for everything in this world.
You wont want to add discussions on your website, you can do your rough work on this platform, and that too anonymously and without sharing your contact details.
You can join this forum by clicking on the below link;
Let’s connect!
